Scarce.
Charcoal-grey species with a distinct yellow head and two sets of raised scale-tufts on forewings.
Adult flies in morning sunshine around branches of hawthorn.
Rests with spread wings and waving antennae.
Woodland edges, scrub and hedgerows.
